The objectives was to achieve gender equity by mainstreaming gender into KAIPTC’s trainings, policies, programs, activities and structures.
As part of efforts to support the implementation process, WPSI in collaboration with the Human Resource Unit and with support from the GIZ organized a Trainer of Trainers workshop was for the Gender Focal Persons (GFPs) selected across all the Departments within the Centre. They were trained on the Sexual Harassment Policy after which the Focal Persons sensitized senior and junior staff members on the Policy.
Committees to handle all sexual harassment complaints have also been formed and approved by management. These sensitization workshops have provided staff with an understanding of what the Centre considers appropriate behavior for staff and also empowered staff to boldly speak out if they are being harassed. The overall objectives is to create a safe and productive work environment for all. 213 staff including have to date been sensitized on this policy.
